There is no way you can send money to someone using the routing number only. You have to use it with the account number. Similarly, you cannot send money to someone else's bank account using their account number only.

Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) is an instant interbank electronic fund transfer service through mobile phones. It is also being extended through other channels such as ATM, Internet Banking, etc.
